I am a young girl who is dating a boy who likes me a lot.  All my friends know him and say that he is a user and a player.  He says he will commit suicide if he loses me.  I still like him but I can’t stand this emotional stuff.  All the guys I know say to leave him and that he is a jerk.  I don’t want to hurt him and I still care about him a lot.  It makes me cry.

This boy is using your emotions to keep you from leaving him. You are being used by him, whether you want to believe it or not. If all your friends know him and say that dating him is a bad idea, maybe you should listen. I don’t know if you’ve heard the phrase rose-colored glasses, but it means that you can’t see the truth about a person because of the feelings of love that you have for them. Maybe you believe that everyone else is wrong and that they don’t know the truth like you do, because you are so close to this boy. But, believe it or not, it’s the other way around. You are so wrapped up in young love that you’re afraid to see the other side. Take a step back and look at the situation. He’s using his threats of suicide to keep you around until he’s bored, and, despite what you believe/he says, he won’t put half as much thought into leaving you as you’re putting into leaving him.

Chili Sauce Without Working

4 quarts of ripe tomatoes
4 small onions
4 green peppers
2 teacups of sugar
2 quarts of cider vinegar
2 ounces ground allspice
2 ounces cloves
2 ounces cinnamon
12 teaspoons salt

Chop tomatoes, onions and peppers fine, add the rest mixed together and bottle cold. Measure tomatoes when peeled. In case I die before my husband I leave everything to him.

Verne’s writing about space travel was literally prophetic, in so many senses of the word. The similarities between his novel “From Earth to the Moon” and the first successful NASA moon landing were staggering:

• He predicted the use of Al as the metal for the building of the rocket capsule (Verne’s capsule was launched by a cannon, not a rocket) for the same reasons that NASA chose it, though it had only just been discovered when he wrote his novel.
• He said that the mission to the moon would be four days long, which it was.
• He chose the same location in Florida as the launch site, also for the same reasons as NASA’s choice (related to the Earth spinning, timing, and launching the rocket on a quick path to the moon.)
• He predicted the lack of gravity/sensation of weightlessness in space.
• His fictional rocket crash landed in the Pacific ocean, dangerously close to its rescue boat, just like the Apollo 11.

Keep in mind that this was all in the 1800s. I guess you could say that Verne more or less invented the basic form of Astronautics that has been built upon by modern-day scientists.

And, by the way, all the stuff about faking the moon landing? Come on, people. Who cares. Whether it was real or not, and I personally believe it was completely real, the moon landing was a huge step for us.

Some scientists say how uncanny and coincidental it was that Verne’s book was so similar to the first expedition to the moon, but I think that it wasn’t coincidental at all! I mean, he was a brilliant guy, and the brilliant scientist wouldn’t be brilliant at all if they didn’t put his ideas to use!

You should look into stuff like this, it’s really crazy.
